Sofa King Coffee Roasters didn’t start in a boardroom. It started with a passion, a bag of fresh unroasted coffee beans, and a fire that wouldn’t quit.

Founder Sean Peverley didn’t just wake up one day and decide to roast coffee. He trained for it. He holds multiple certifications from the Specialty Coffee Association, mastering Roasting, Sensory Skills, and Green Coffee. In 2021, he and his son Carter traveled to Chicago to study under the pros, and later worked with a master roaster from Boyer’s Coffee to take their craft even further.

But Sean’s not just certified. He’s obsessed. While other roasters in the region are following basic instructions and hoping for decent results, Sean is fine-tuning every detail. Beans, temps, post-blends, roast profiles. He approaches it like a mad scientist with a caffeine addiction. That’s why Sofa King coffee hits different. Then something kept happening. Friends and family would visit Casper and try Sean’s coffee, and without fail, they’d all say the same thing—“This is better than the stuff we get back home.” That stuck with him.
